For over a decade, MasterCard has worked with Junior Achievement - Young Enterprise to deliver a financial skills curriculum to students and has contributed over $1 million for the development and implementation of programs for young people throughout the world.
MasterCard Worldwide values the Junior Achievement Organization for its dedication to educating students about work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. MasterCard has partnered with Junior Achievement to facilitate students with the financial skills and knowledge they need, while offering opportunities for employee engagement in corporate social responsibility programs. Currently, five MasterCard senior executives serve on local and global JA boards.
In Europe, Brian Lang, MasterCard Country Manager, Czech Republic sits on the European Board of JA. In 2010, the MasterCard European Senior Management Team (ESMT) was a sponsor of Junior Achievement's annual Conference on Financial Literacy. MasterCard employees from Sweden, Turkey, Czech Republic, Belgium and Hungary are already working with Junior Achievement and employees elsewhere are looking for opportunities to engage with Junior Achievement in their home countries.
